Increase Your Range and Stability after Ankle Sprains
Following an acute ankle sprain it is essential that you aim to restore your dorsiflexion range of movement, as well as the stability component to enable you to start to return to running. Mobilisation of the ankle in the clinic needs to be repeated at home as well as the rehab exercises.
1. Therapist assisted dorsi-flexion with PA glide
2. Dorsiflexion AP Band Glide
3. BOSU balance and COMPASS

    I never comment on videos. The first stretch was very helpful. I felt my lower back adjust itself on both sides multiple times. Fantastic. Then the second one helped me sink my lower back into flexion without too much pain. Now I have touch the floor and put my shoes and socks on. FYI I’m 20 years old and very fit. Don’t think this can’t happen to you just because you are young. I will continue to do these! This video and channel deserves so much more attention. No other video has been able to give me this relief. Thank you so much!

    Hi , I’m a physiotherapist myself and I do regular workout but I have some issues with my right scapula its not winging but i feel it slightly tilted outwards from its medial border when I do horizontal pull for back I feel my right hand is not moving symmetrically as left I think the shoulder is slight elevated. Secondly while doing chest workout I can’t hit my right chest equally as left there’s slight less contraction in right chest, what would it be?

    Any athletic individuals should STRONGLY consider the patellar graft. I had a hamstring graft done 12 years ago (right knee) as I was naive and didn't do my research and I can say it changed the course of my entire life. I had to quite playing soccer, lost a significant amount of explosiveness, recently stopped sprinting as it resulted in a Grade 2 hamstring tear (on the surgically repaired limb), have a significant calf muscle bulk difference.....and on top of all of this I am experiencing anterior knee pain now when squatting and there is arthritis in the knee joint. I had the operation when I was 24 years old and had no idea how significant the change would be. I told my friend years back who needed an ACL surgery to 100% go patellar graft and he is better than he's ever been and just as good an athlete 8 years later. All the while I stay active, go the gym, maintain a healthy lifestyle and diet. But at the end of the day when they rip out those hamstring tendons in the operating room it is throwing your whole biomechanics out of wack and there's only so much you can do after.

    • @physiorehab
      @physiorehab 4 дні тому

      Please don’t tell everyone what they should be doing based on you own 1 experience. Everyone is different and it will depend on your biomechanics and tissue bulk of what will work best. people need to speak to their surgeon about the pros and cons for both surgeries

    • @bencohen3567
      @bencohen3567 4 дні тому

      @@physiorehab I’m sharing my opinion based on my own personal history. Of course every patient will consult with a surgeon and go over all the pros and cons. But I do affirm that athletic individuals should strongly consider the patellar graft. Everyone is entitled to sharing their own opinion.

    there is a lot of hype around doing exercises in the stretched position. i.e. what if you did the external rotation not from up high to fully contracted, but from down LOW in the external rotator fully stretched position almost behind your back. would that be more effective? reaction?

    I am 7 weeks after my operation. Subscapularis. ...Full thickness tear. . supraspinatus ...full thickness tear and ruptured bicep. My physio has given me exercises and tells me to push myself to where I can't stand it and then stop! Use a 1kg weight lying on my back doing slow punch ups. Using a cane to push my arm up as far as possible and to the side as far as possible. Am I doing too much at this stage? Your exercises seem gentler and I'll be giving them a go
